John O’Connor/dad

[Verse 1]
There's a porch light down a gravel road
Where a hardworking man came home
Five little faces at the door
Four girls, one boy, all running for
The man who kept the balance right
In a full and noisy house each night

[Chorus]
John O'Connor, you're our hero
Our confidant through every storm
You gave your time, your love, your laughter
And kept our hearts so safe and warm
You gave Mom and us forever
Best dad and papa ever

[Verse 2]
Cards on the table, Friday night
That evil laugh when you'd win the fight
You'd tease us till our sides would ache
Then laugh at your own big mistake
You never hid the love you had
Never too proud to hug us, Dad

[Chorus]
John O'Connor, you're our hero
Our confidant through every storm
You gave your time, your love, your laughter
And kept our hearts so safe and warm
You gave Mom and us forever
Best dad and papa ever

[Bridge]
In a house of five it's easy to fade
But you saw me, Dad, in every way
Patient and kind, you made room for us all
Each one of us stood ten feet tall

[Verse 3]
Now little voices call you Papa
Two sons-in-law who shook your hand
Four grandkids learning how you laugh
Your legacy across this land
Five kids, two sons, four sweet babies
Love you to infinity and beyond

[Chorus]
John O'Connor, you're our hero
Our confidant through every storm
You gave your time, your love, your laughter
And kept our hearts so safe and warm
You gave Mom and us forever
Best dad and papa ever

[Outro]
John O'Connor, we love you
To infinity and beyond
Best dad and papa ever
