Jon

[Verse 1]
Some folks are born to carry the light,
Steady and gentle, holding on tight.
From the first breath, a soft summer dawn,
A heart full of kindness came into the world, my son Jon.

[Chorus]
Oh Jon, you put us all first,
Never once counting your worst.
You fill up the world with color and grace,
Courage and comfort in every embrace.
This is your song, sung just because —
For the boundless love that you always was.

[Verse 2]
A young boy giving, before he could grow,
Sharing his heart with everyone he'd know.
You never complained through your own quiet pain,
Just poured out devotion like soft falling rain.

[Chorus]
Oh Jon, you put us all first,
Never once counting your worst.
You fill up the world with color and grace,
Courage and comfort in every embrace.
This is your song, sung just because —
For the boundless love that you always was.

[Bridge]
That thirtieth of August, a gift arrived,
And my heart overflowed the day you were alive.
Compassion in motion, a joy that won't end —
My firstborn, my hero, my son and my friend.

[Verse 3]
So carry on shining, the way that you do,
The whole world is better for having you.
And if ever you're weary, lean back on me,
For all that you give, let me set your heart free.

[Chorus]
Oh Jon, you put us all first,
Never once counting your worst.
You fill up the world with color and grace,
Courage and comfort in every embrace.
This is your song, sung just because —
For the boundless love that you always was.

[Outro]
So proud of the man that you've grown to be,
Jon, my son, you're a light unto me.
