Katherine Minya Veilleux

[Verse 1]
Half a world away we flew,
Fifteen days in summer's heat,
Prayers we whispered every night,
Hoping soon our hearts would meet.
In Nanning where the warm winds blew,
A miracle was coming true.

[Chorus]
Oh, we held you close until you slept,
Two heartbeats beating into one,
Every promise that we kept,
Precious heart, our morning sun.
To the moon and back we'll go,
There's no measure for this love, we know.

[Verse 2]
September 1st, you were placed into our arms,
Fourteen months, bright eyes and wide awake,
Tears of joy fell down our cheeks,
An angel sent through heaven's gate.
On Dad's chest you'd nap and rest,
Our little Yaya, laughing, blessed.

[Chorus]
Oh, we held you close until you slept,
Two heartbeats beating into one,
Every promise that we kept,
Precious heart, our morning sun.
To the moon and back we'll go,
There's no measure for this love, we know.

[Bridge]
Eye to the sky, we'd stop and stay,
Feel the sun on Gotcha Day.
Our little Boo who chased the light,
A butterfly, first snow at night.

[Verse 3]
Brigitte and JP, so proud to say,
Precious heart, proud of who MinYa
has become, creative, curious, and true,
You taught us how to see anew.
Through your eyes the whole world grew,
What a blessing, having you.

[Chorus]
Oh, we hold you close, our dream come true,
Two heartbeats beating into one,
Every day we're grateful for you,
Precious daughter, brightest sun.
To the moon and back we'll go,
There's no measure for this love, we know.

[Outro]
MinYa, precious one, so dear,
To the moon and back, we're here.
Forever wrapped in love so true,
This Gotcha Day belongs to you.
