Larry

[Verse 1]
I came to Chicago in the winter cold
Didn't know a soul, didn't know the road
Then October brought a little sign
One little wink on a lonely line
Sushi and a list of questions, one by one
I was sure you were done before we'd begun

[Chorus]
Twenty years of loving you, Larry
Twenty years and I'm still amazed
You're my healing, you're my quiet peace
My joy through all of my days
Just sitting by your side is heaven
That wink still lights my way

[Verse 2]
Then you asked me for a drink in Boystown
Sidetracks beers slowed your nervous heart down
On Roscoe's floor we shared our first kiss
Circuit, then Charlie's, who knew a night like this
I said I'm not asking you to marry me
Just come say hi to Mama, and you came with me

[Chorus]
Twenty years of loving you, Larry
Twenty years and I'm still amazed
You're my healing, you're my quiet peace
My joy through all of my days
Just sitting by your side is heaven
That wink still lights my way

[Bridge]
Ferris wheel turning over Navy Pier
You said stop by after work, and baby, I'm still here
Married in May, and the years only prove
I love you more now than the day I said I do

[Verse 3]
You're a quiet man with an open heart
Gentle and caring, tender from the start
Side by side on our laptops at night
TV on low and the world feels right
Just being with you is all that I need
South Africa's calling, baby, come with me

[Chorus]
Twenty years of loving you, Larry
And still I'm more amazed
You're my healing, you're my quiet peace
My joy through all of my days
Just sitting by your side is heaven
That wink still lights my way

[Outro]
Twenty years, and I'd choose you again
My love, my husband, my best friend
