Loc Reader

[Verse 1]
Two kids in a hallway, hearts still learning how
We wrote a little promise, I can still hear now
Through the college years, a ring and a vow
Fifty-nine seasons later, look at where we are now

[Chorus]
Oh, it's love and kindness, holding through the years
Every laugh, every prayer, every joyful tear
Faith led us onward, and it carried us far
Loc Reader, my darling, thank God for who you are

[Verse 2]
You said you'd never wear a badge, but life had other plans
Thirty years of duty, gun and steady hands
From deputy to chief, in that Seattle rain
You served this world with honor, never once complained

[Chorus]
Oh, it's love and kindness, holding through the years
Every laugh, every prayer, every joyful tear
Faith led us onward, and it carried us far
Loc Reader, my darling, thank God for who you are

[Bridge]
Three beautiful children, blessings from above
You gave me the courage to chase a dream I loved
Sent me back to school with a whisper, "You can be"
That's the man you are, that's your heart to me

[Verse 3]
Now the days move slower, and the porch light's low
Hand in mine, my sweetheart, still I love you so
Hugs at every morning, "I love you" every night
Fifty-nine years of dancing in your light

[Chorus]
Oh, it's love and kindness, holding through the years
Every laugh, every prayer, every joyful tear
Faith led us onward, and it carried us far
Loc Reader, my darling, thank God for who you are

[Outro]
Here's to us forever, hand in hand we'll stay
Loc, my love, my always — happy anniversary day
