Ed and Linda

[Verse 1]
Some stories start with thunder,
Some start with one small word,
A blind date, rollers in her hair,
The sweetest laugh he'd ever heard,
She asked him, come to church with me,
And he said yes, and time stood still

[Chorus]
Ed and Linda, sixty-four years strong,
You built our house on solid ground,
Through every storm His grace held on,
And love was the only sound,
You gave us faith to carry home,
A light we'll pass on down

[Verse 2]
Sassafrass, Charlie Brown, and Punkin,
Safe inside those walls,
The Lord's supper on Christmas Eve,
Your hands upon us all,
Dad's quiet grin, Mom's laugh you'd know
From clear across the hall

[Chorus]
Ed and Linda, sixty-four years strong,
You built our house on solid ground,
Through every storm His grace held on,
And love was the only sound,
You gave us faith to carry home,
A light we'll pass on down

[Bridge]
I think back to that moment,
When she asked and he said yes,
One open door to Jesus,
And the Lord wrote all the rest

[Verse 3]
Pecan pies and ripe tomatoes,
Peanut butter, jelly bread,
Tanner, Melissa, Grace, Isaac, Neelie,
Board games till time for bed,
Now Charlie, Caleb, Emma, Sammie
Ride Grandpa's wheelbarrow ahead

[Chorus]
Ed and Linda, sixty-four years strong,
You built us on the solid ground,
Every heart you led to Jesus,
Every lost one that you found,
You gave us faith to carry home,
A light we'll pass on down

[Outro]
We love you more than you will ever know,
Every bit of faith we own,
We owe it all to you two,
And the seeds of grace you've sown
