Katie

[Verse 1]
There was a time I walked alone,
carrying a weight I couldn't show.
So many nights I broke apart,
so many tears fell from this heart.
Then somewhere in the quiet gray,
a light came softly on its way.

[Chorus]
From the first time you entered my mind,
I knew that you were the one I'd find.
You filled a hole I thought would stay,
you gave me courage, you healed the day.
My love, my joy, my brand new start,
you found your way into my heart.

[Verse 2]
I never thought I'd smile again,
never thought I'd feel like this again.
But you walked in and changed the tune,
my winter melted into June.
Katie, you're everything I need,
the gentle answer to my plea.

[Chorus]
From the first time you entered my mind,
I knew that you were the one I'd find.
You filled a hole I thought would stay,
you gave me courage, you healed the day.
My love, my joy, my brand new start,
you found your way into my heart.

[Bridge]
My girls, they see it too, it's true,
they opened up their arms to you.
A family grown from love and grace,
you gave this house a warmer place.

[Verse 3]
So keep on being who you are,
my beautiful and guiding star.
No perfect words can ever say
how much you brighten every day.
Katie, my darling, this is true,
there's no one I would rather do
this life with, hand in hand we'll go,
you are the one I love and know.

[Chorus]
From the first time you entered my mind,
I knew that you were the one I'd find.
You filled a hole I thought would stay,
you gave me courage, you healed the day.
My love, my joy, my brand new start,
you found your way into my heart.

[Outro]
So Katie, just keep being you,
in all you are, my love is true.
