Renee Hoke

[Verse 1]
Fifty years, and I still recall
That little diner, a coffee, that's all
You brought the menu, I lost my mind
A waitress with green eyes, one of a kind
Somewhere between hello and goodbye
I knew you'd be my forever, my why

[Chorus]
Oh Renee, my Nina, my whole life through
Five foot two of heaven, still I'm crazy for you
You put the world before your own sweet heart
Beautiful smile that lit me from the start
Half a century, and I still can't believe
God gave me an angel, my darlin' Renee

[Verse 2]
Brown hair blowin' in the summer air
Aerosmith playin', we hadn't a care
You sang out loud, held tight to my hand
Young and in love in a promised land
A mother, a grandma, so gentle and true
There's no better woman than you

[Chorus]
Oh Renee, my Nina, my whole life through
Five foot two of heaven, still I'm crazy for you
You put the world before your own sweet heart
Beautiful smile that lit me from the start
Half a century, and I still can't believe
God gave me an angel, my darlin' Renee

[Bridge]
You call me D, I call you home
Through every storm, we were never alone
Faithful and witty, kind and wise
I still get lost in those bright green eyes

[Verse 3]
So here's to the years we've yet to spend
My soulmate, my lover, my dearest friend
I'd choose that diner a thousand times more
Just to walk through that same old door

[Chorus]
Oh Renee, my Nina, my whole life through
Five foot two of heaven, still I'm crazy for you
Half a century, and I still can't believe
God gave me an angel, my darlin' Renee

[Outro]
Fifty years, still I'm on my knees
Thankful for you, my sweet Renee
