Mary McNamara Salvi

[Verse 1]
Down the street you came one day,
A stranger with an easy way.
Friendship grew to something more,
I asked you out right through your door.
At your workplace, heart in hand,
Our first date, where love began.

[Chorus]
Through the good times and the bad,
The sweetest love I've ever had.
Faith has held us, hand in hand,
We built a home, we made our stand.
Two hearts that beat as only one,
An endless love beneath the sun.

[Verse 2]
September fifth, we said "I do,"
In 1970, me and you.
Then Kimberly with all that hair,
And Kerrin's light beyond compare.
Little Tasha at our feet,
A family love that made us complete.

[Chorus]
Through the good times and the bad,
The sweetest love I've ever had.
Faith has held us, hand in hand,
We built a home, we made our stand.
Two hearts that beat as only one,
An endless love beneath the sun.

[Bridge]
Now the years have turned us gray,
And you still love me every day.
Your gentle hands, your faithful heart,
Have never let this old love part.

[Verse 3]
Fifty-six years, Mary, we have grown,
Never walking this road alone.
Your devotion, strong and true,
Oh Mary, thank the Lord for you.
And when I'm weak, you carry me,
A grateful love, our legacy.

[Chorus]
Through the good times and the bad,
The sweetest love I've ever had.
Faith has held us, hand in hand,
We built a home, we made our stand.
Two hearts that beat as only one,
An endless love beneath the sun.

[Outro]
Sweet Mary, still my everything,
Our endless heart, forever sing.
