Peter Dustin

[Verse 1]
Some hearts are built to carry more
Than they were ever asked to hold
Some light a lamp beside the door
So no one walks home in the cold
You were that heart when you were small
Your little hands would catch us all

[Chorus]
Peter Dustin, happy birthday, son
You're the shelter for everyone
Kindhearted, strong, and brave and true
This family shines because of you
So light the candles, let it ring
Tonight we celebrate everything you bring

[Verse 2]
You walked them home from school each day
You sat with homework, showed the way
You rocked the babies, calmed their fears
And stood between them and the tears
Your brothers and your sisters know
There's no place you won't go

[Chorus]
Peter Dustin, happy birthday, son
You're the shelter for everyone
Kindhearted, strong, and brave and true
This family shines because of you
So light the candles, let it ring
Tonight we celebrate everything you bring

[Bridge]
And even grown, you still come home
You ask us first, you seek our word
A man who never walks alone
Still listens like our voice is heard

[Verse 3]
Every family day, you're standing there
A steady hand, a pulled up chair
The courage in you, soft and wise
Is the love we see behind your eyes
Whatever roads the years may send
You'll always be our son, our friend

[Chorus]
Peter Dustin, happy birthday, son
You're the shelter for everyone
Kindhearted, strong, and brave and true
Our hearts are proud because of you
So light the candles, let it ring
Tonight we celebrate everything you bring

[Outro]
So make a wish and hold it near
We thank the Lord that you are here
Happy birthday, son, we love you so
More than you will ever know
